Enjoy your coffee with fewer carcinogens.

Coffee lovers have long wrestled with concerns about certain compounds that naturally form during the roasting process. Acrylamide is the most common and has been identified by top health organizations as a probable carcinogen. But what if you could savor your daily brew with less worry about these cancer-causing chemicals?

With our NASA-inspired Luminary Roast™, you can now enjoy a coffee drinking experience that’s not only delicious but also mindful of your health.

The Truth About Coffee & Carcinogens

During the coffee roasting process, a naturally-occurring chemical reaction called the Maillard reaction takes place between amino acids and sugars. This reaction produces browning, flavor, and aroma. It also produces acrylamide.

Our Luminary Roast™ process eliminates surface oils during roasting, removing these compounds linked to traditional fire roasting. The result is fewer carcinogenic and cholesterol-raising chemicals left on our beans.

Should You Still Drink Coffee?

It’s a fair question, but acrylamide isn’t specific to only coffee. According to the FDA, acrylamide is commonly found in food made from plants and is formed during high temperature cooking, like frying or roasting.

For coffee, acrylamide is a natural byproduct of all traditional coffee roasting. Our Luminary Roast™ uses precision-controlled LEDs in a vacuum chamber to significantly reduce the amount you consume. There are many health benefits associated with drinking coffee that you deserve to enjoy. Seeking a low-carcinogenic brew only maximizes your ability to do so.

So, should you still drink coffee?

Your health is entirely up to you, but we certainly hope you do!
